I'm Not Looking for a Pity Party - Warning - Too Much Information to Follow!

but I thought I'd clue everyone in just in case you all were wondering why I wasn't sewing! I haven't been feeling very well lately. When I last had blood drawn my hematocrit was 21. That's really low, dangerously low. Anyway, my doc sent me of to see and OB/GYN who did a few tests on Tuesday and decided that I need to have a little surgery on Friday. The little surgery turned out to be a hysterectomy (by my choice) as it was the only option that would solve all of the female issues in one fell swoop! So, yesterday morning I checked into the hospital and they removed all my girly parts. I may be laying a little low for the next little while - at least until I'm off narcotics. Everything went just fine and I'm home now, laying about with the dogs, knitting and just basically taking it easy. It won't be easy for me to be still, but I'll do the best I can. Camilla - the stunt stitcher skirts are almost done! Hopefully I can finish them up and have them out to you soon!!!!

  1. I'm glad your surgery went well. I am shocked that you are already home. I had a partial hysterectomy seven years ago and I stayed in the hospital for 4-5 days. Take care and take it easy. I pray you will fell brand new before you know it.

  4. Please slow down and rest. You'll heal much quicker and more painlessly if you let your body have the recovery time it needs. I'm already beaming "feel better" vibes your way, as I type this.

  7. Best wishes for a grand recovery. One "Fred" moment I'll treasure forever was the day I came home from my hysterectomy. He came bounding over to me, and then put on the brakes and ever so gently raised up on his hind legs, and placed his front paws on my knees, and blessed me with some of his rare, sweet kisses! I hope your 4-leggeds are showering you with sweetness too.

  8. Golly, Gaylen - I hope you are doing okay. At least it's all snowy outside around our parts and you can sit and knit away in front of the fireplace. RIght? RIGHT????? Don't overdo it. These things take a long time to heal. :) Let me know if you need anything - after the snow goes away of course. Can't drive in that!

  12. Sorry to hear that you had to undergo surgery. However, just kick back and relax thru the holidays. There will be plenty of time for sewing once you heal.

  15. Geesh, it sounds like I've worked you to death. So sorry to hear about you having to go under the knife, but the upside is you'll get all better, AND no more periods. Yay, you! All that hormonal salt/chocolate craving... you will be Master and Commander of your own 'vessel' (as it were). best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. I'll be mailing you a surprise later (it isn't ordered till Wednesday, as I am a lazy slogger)but it's silk and pretty and hey, what IS your favorite color? Be better or be medicated (I seem to be using that phrase a LOT lately) Cami
