Subtitle: Fashion blogger I am not.
A few weeks back, I saw this fabulous outfit that Patty had made.
I adore it - the full print skirt. The striped tee - heaven.
So - I went out and bought the pattern - it's KS 3637.
I pulled an old cotton out of the cupboard that I had used in the makeover of The Musical One's bedroom

(when she was in 6th grade).
Sample - wearable = bonus.
Then I tried it on. Ugh! I hated it. I feel like it accentuates how wide I am.
I ask JB what he thought - and having learned to be a smart man
he said - wear it and ask your knitting girls.
So, I wore it yesterday and I'm asking you. What do you think?
Win or Lose?
It definately is fun.
I love it - go with it!! And have fun!!
ReplyDeleteIf it makes you happy - and the spinning shot affirms that it does - then wear it with joy.
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows full skirts are, well... FULL. So does the joy overpower the feeling that it isn't the most flattering thing you own?
I like it! I think it's cute and fun...
ReplyDeleteI like it. It's swingy and fun and I personally think it looks great on you. So there!
ReplyDeleteI think that with the accessories you have on (the fitted sweater and belt) it looks FABULOUS! Your waist looks tiny and the swirl is to die for.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it's unanimous so far...
But. I will say that having tried to get myself to wear clothing I wasn't comfortable in, no matter how good I may have looked, I know that it may not ever get worn. Fashion confidence is a mental state as well as physical. Perhaps more than.
It is fun. I think if the skirt grazed the top of your knee, you'd be happier with it. I love the whole color combo!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you pulled this together, with the boots and the sweater. I personally love the swirly skirt (it's my preference)but....I think what you're reacting to is the "wider" look you see in the photo. You've been doing lots of pencil skirts lately, and this is really different! I hope you make peace with this outfit.
ReplyDeleteits adorable and looks like fun
ReplyDeleteI think it looks good, but if, as you say, you hate it, then it really doesn't matter what all of us think. Even if you end up scrapping it, the process of making it, photographing it, wearing it all brings you closer to the holy grail. That's what I try to tell myself anyway, through a long string of misses.
ReplyDeleteI like it! But then you probably knew I would, ha. :D
ReplyDeleteI love twirly skirts, so I say go with it. When I was little, I refused to wear a dress if it didn't "twirl". : )
ReplyDeleteI love it! The belt ties it all together, and accentuates your waist, which is exactly what you want to do with a full skirt like that! I think it looks fantastic, so wear it with confidence!!

It's really cute! I love the full skirt - twirly ones are awesome :)
ReplyDeleteI'm finally catching up on my blog reading!! Yay! I LOVE this outfit - the full skirts are definitely, um, full and that's all you're looking at! Your waist looks great! I really love how comfy circle skirts are for wearing - you can crawl around on the floor (unlike straighter skirts!) Try backing up from your computer and looking at the pictures - I think you'll like the profile!
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI think you look terrific in it! I think it accentuates your waistline. the belt and cardigan are just perfect. I say give it another shot!
