Momma's Boy
Sunday I made my way into the studio to get a little face time with my sewing machine. JB was working on the deck - there was pounding, concrete being mixed, drills running, the compressor going - all sorts of noisy stuff going on. Well my dogs are big babies - especially Beauregard James.
Once I let them in, he came right over to the studio space and laid down behind my chair. There isn't a whole lot of room for standing around in my studio. There is approximately 3 feet between the sewing desk and the cutting table behind it. In the first photo you can see how much space there is because his head is touching the trash can and his back feet are under the cutting table - barely! The best part - he was completely unwilling to move.
So, once I sat down to sew, I had to very carefully negotiate around him. As I said he was unwilling to move. In fact the first time I got up and stepped over him to get to the iron - he lifted his head to give me a dirty look. You might ask why he was glued to me like that. Well - because the big scary noises were outside and he needed me to protect him. Or at least make him feel comfortable enough to sleep!

I have one just as inconvenient, wussy and huge. I sometimes want to push him out, but I won't do it either;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Gaylen...what's better than a dog that sticketh closer than a brother...:) Such love and devotion! If that's what it takes for BJ to feel comfort and sleep, one needs to be careful and adjust, right?(lol) Hope your week is enjoyable and you get a little more space from your Momma's Boy!
ReplyDeleteAren't they just so funny sometimes? Sweet!
ReplyDeleteBeau and Thor must be brothers. Tuesday it started thundering around 5AM, and he cried downstairs. We found him whining at the bottom of the stairs when we got up at 8, and he sat under my chair - yes, that's hard to do - until the booming stopped. Thor sypmathizes with Beau!
ReplyDeleteBoy do I understand. My blk lab has tried to get behind me while I am sitting in the recliner.
ReplyDeleteAww, sweet baby. :-) I just love big dogs.
ReplyDeleteI find it funny that he was so stubborn and gave you a dirty look - and also that he hides out in the open. (When Zeus gets scared he'll hide under the desk or covers.) Maybe he wanted to keep an eye on you to know you weren't leaving the room without him.
ReplyDeleteI can relate! My big momma's girl is always under my feet.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been really funny if all 4 had to be in there with you!
Beau sounds a lot like Wilbur when the big scary noises are outside. He whimpers and whines and won't stay with either of the boys...only momma (or sometimes dad) will do.
ReplyDeleteOh, he looks so sweet laying there....Robyn
