Instead - I've been reading - it's a good distraction technique. Earlier this year - I ran across True Colors by Kristin Hannah in the Nook Book Deals - I snapped it up at $2.99. It's not there anymore. I finally started it and honestly - I couldn't put it down. I love the fact that I can have the Nook balanced on my knee and still be knitting while I'm reading.
I fell for the characters in this book. I was sad to see the story end - I want to know more - what happened to these sisters? What's next.
Well, next - I logged into Barnes and Noble and bought a copy of the things we do for love. I started it on Monday morning. I stayed up way, way too late last night reading it. In fact, I just curled up in my chair and read last night - no paying attention to what JB had going on tv, not really listening to him chatter on about the 'talent' on America's Got Talent, just read.
Another good story about family and the things we desire. How people change. I laughed and cried as I read this one.
Mind you - I don't do heavy reading. I don't read about historical events, I don't read true stories. I read light books that make you feel connected to the characters. That take you away from your own live for a minute. Kristin Hannah can do that for me. Since she's no longer on the Nook Book Deals - I think I'm going to have to figure out how the Nook and my library work together. Anyone?
So what do you read and why?
