Having A Hard Time
doing nothing. However, the way I've felt these last few days aren't encouraging a great deal of activity. Thank you all for your well wishes and support. It really means a lot to me.
So, I'm doing a fair bit of reading, lots of blog surfing, a good bit of internet shopping (for myself and holiday gifting), tons of knitting, and a little bit of sleeping.
Yesterday, Beau decided he needed to check on me and make sure I was okay - but putting his big foot right on my abdomen. I yelped, JB jumped up, started to yell at the dog, but I stopped him, Beau didn't mean to hurt me. For the rest of the evening, every time I even breathed heavy Beau would get up to check on me and make sure I was okay.
Today, JB went back to work. He carried the laundry basket downstairs for me - just so I didn't get the bright idea to bring it down myself. I am going to do my best to just leave it there in front of the washing machine. He's getting a little desperate for jeans, but heavy jeans might be a little too much.
Holiday knitting is coming along and I just keep adding to the list - since I seem to be doing nothing but sitting and knitting. Here's what the list looks like:
*Red Debbie Bliss cabled scarf & fingerless mitts {scarf half done}
*KPPPM Feather & Fan Scarf {1/4 done}
*JB's Holiday Sweater {body done to start of sleeves}
*The Princess Gift - done!
*Purple socks for a friend - done!
*Scarf for The Musical One {needs to be blocked}
*Socks for The Musical One - done!
I have a couple of sewing gifts that need to be completed, but they will have to wait until I can bend in half.
Enough whining. Again, thank you all for your well wishes, you have no idea how it has brightened my days :)

What's a Girl To Do?
First, I think I owe Miss C an apology. I'm sorry ;}
Second, I'm beginning to feel very overwhelmed. This is nobody's fault but my own, and now my plate is overflowing. Maybe I will give in a start looking for someone to help with the housework. In no particular order - here are the things that I need to get done, and soon!
Stunt Stitcher Duties
::Make Layered AB Skirt
::Make Simple A-line AB Skirt
::Make AB Apron
::Make Needle Roll, design and make coordinating double pins
Pay It Forward Duties
::Make gifts for 2 recipients (I already know what these are)
::Determine gift for 3rd recipient and make
Knit One, Tea Two Duties (This is done!)
::Make handmade gift for the person I'm spoiling
::Go shopping for the little gifties and sweets
ASG Duties
::determine what I'll be taking to the Fall Sewing Retreat. This is the first time that I have been able to attend. I've paid my money and I'm so looking forward to it.
::Make a faux-fur bear dog toy for the Annual Meeting Silent Auction (it was a request)
::Make something else (still to be determined) for the auction
::Attend a sewing workshop day to help make the Banquet favors
DWOA Secret Santa Duties
::Get started collecting dog themed items for a package
::Start on something handmade for the giftee
Charity Doggie Duties
::Work on fleece dog beds for OldDog Haven
::Help Miss D make hand knit sweaters in requested sizes for Old Dog Haven
edited to add::the link for OldDog Haven. I have just spent several minutes reading the stories of old dogs in foster homes. I don't think I can even put a coherent sentence together about how disgusted I am by some people and the things they are capable of.
Holiday Duties
::Start making the gift socks
Personal Duties
::Get in to see the doctor, soon
::Get back into workout routine - lately I'm packing the weight on again and I'm disgusted with myself
Now - here's the real issue. I h::a::t::e lists. While I love the fact that all those random items are now out of my head, now longer buzzing around in there - saying you need to make me, no work on me, no I wanna be first, hey let's go shopping and get this out of the way. See all that on paper makes me want to go to bed and hide under the covers. No knitting, no sewing, not a pattern in sight, sometimes even without a novel! So there you have it - I'm a freak!

Doing What I Do Best
Have I mentioned that I'm having a cocktail party tonight? Have I ever mentioned that I have 4 dogs? Or how about the fact that my husband and I both work full-time? Or even that I might be a little bit of a procrastinator?
So here's what I should be doing this morning -
*grocery shopping
*stopping at the liquor store
*vacuuming
*dusting
*laundry (just 'cuz there's so much I can't hide it behind a door right now!)
*then cooking
*I need to press my dress and I would like to make an apron (it ain't gonna happen, but I'd like to)
What am I doing instead - updating my blog - adding a list of my labels - thanks Debbie :)
Reading comments - Linda, you are so right. I have been peri for a couple of years now, but nobody will listen to me. Yes, I finally found a new doctor who will :P Mary - do you have a blog or website? I would love to see pics of your dogs. And GP - thanks for being there. Jess - can't wait to see you and the boys, wish you were here for the party.
Okay - headed off to get my errands run. The Musical One just woke up and I gave her a job to help - now she's not happy. Heaven forbit you should have to clean up after yourself :)

Thankful - Thanksgiving
Today I am reminding myself of all the little things I am thankful for, including
*a husband who loves me
*both of us having good jobs that allow me indulge in somewhat expensive hobbies
*The Musical One - who can be incredibly annoying, but I wouldn't change her
*The Princess
*Beau - who loves me best!
*Lucy sticking her nose under my arm while I am trying to type
*Abigail laying at my feet
*Dudley who is the rock dog in this house
*Virtual friends and their willingness to help with sewing, knitting, crafting and dog problems.
*Family traditions that they kids (adults really) still enjoy
*Being able to actually cook the meal, having a home to do it and the finances to afford it
*That it's not raining - right now :)
I'm off to do all the early prep work that I didn't do yesterday because I wasn't feeling well.
Hope that everyone has a safe, happy, enjoyable holiday and finds sometime to do something you enjoy. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I'm Sinking Fast!
I fear I'm getting in over my head. My sewing machine is acting up on anything other than a straight or zig-zag stitch. Of course - I can't be without it. Between now and Christmas, the following is currently on my plate:
*Green lined holiday dress - to be done for party on 12/9
*One computer bag - cut, but hardly sewn
*4 sets of stitch markers to be made
*3 kitchen sets to knit - consisting of wool felted oven mitt, 2 warshcloths and a hand towel
*2 clopotis
*sweater for JB
*2 felted handbags for family coming for Christmas
*6 aprons
*10 flower pincushions
I know there's more, but I can't think of it. This morning I ordered yarn for the second clapotis, and one of the felted purses.
I still want to get fleece to make The Musical One new fleece sweatpants - she loves them and lives in them and her old ones are gross!!
And I need to come up with some neat cool thing to stuff in the Holiday cards that are being mailed to my DWOA group.
Quick - somebody throw me a life preserver!!!
