Lovely Presentation

Last month, Tracey had a little give away.
She had duplicate copies of Amy Butler's Style Stitches.
A lovely book on bag making.
You'll have to take my word on it that I won the book - because look how it arrived.
I can't bring myself to unwrap this lovely little package!

Tracey wrapped the book up in 2 coordinating fat quarters of fabric.
There is a ribbon and the perfectly coordinating pink button.
She also sent along a wonderful card with a handmade fussy cut hexi on it.

Do you think she knows pink is my favorite color?
I'm thrilled with this package.
Thank you Tracey - and I have unwrapped it.
Now to find the perfect project for this amazing gift.

Share the Love

I believe in pointing our good customer service.  And what I received was not good customer service - but above and beyond excellent.  And I want to share the love with one of you.

Pamela's Magic Pencil Skirt
First - the back story.  Earlier this month, inspired by the skirts I'd seen around blogland, I ordered Pamela's Magic Pencil Skirt.  And then I waited and waited.  Honestly - we all know when a woman (and one who sews at that) has decided she wants something, we don't wait very patiently.

Finally, on Monday, Oct. 15th, I emailed Pamela and asked where my pattern was.  Turns out that Pamela had been away teaching so it didn't get mailed until October 8th.  But still - it was the 15th and I still didn't have the pattern in my hot little hand and anyone who follows me on Instagram knows the 'sewjo' is hot right now!

Pamela emailed me on Tuesday.  We emailed back and forth on Tuesday and ultimately Pamela said she would put another pattern in the mail - she offered, I did not ask.  Of course my pattern turned up Tuesday night.  I very quickly emailed Pamela and said it's here.  If you haven't sent the replacement - please don't.  She replied, I'm taking this directly from her email:  "Of course it went out already - haha! I also included some Fantastic Elastic for you as well. So maybe you could give the extra pattern to a sewing friend and work on them together! Let me know how you like the pattern."

So - I have an extra copy of the Magic Skirt pattern that I'm happy to share with one lucky blog reader.  I'll send the pattern anywhere.  Just let me know you are interested.  I'll close the give away on Oct. 30 and draw one lucky winner on the 31st for a nice treat for someone.

And for the record - I WILL be ordering from Pamela again - I have no idea how her pattern will work for me - but her customer service is above and beyond and that deserves my repeat business.   How do you reward excellent customer service?

Winner, Winner!

So - I'm way late drawing a winner for the My Memories give away.  I think the coupons and codes are still good.

Anyway - tonight JB and The Musical One are both sitting on the couch and say:  Pick a number between 0 and 8.  Without missing a beat - they both said AT THE SAME TIME Seven!

So that means Bubblesknits is the winner!  Contact me and I'll put you in touch to get your software!  Congrats.

And because no post is complete without a photo, here's a sneak peak of one of my completed sewing retreat outfits.

Another Prize

Last month - IrishGirlieKnits started a group over on Ravelry (enough links in that sentence?).  Anyway - I posted a photo of my heavily modified socks I was working on from her pattern.  She picked 2 winners and I won!  I got a lovely hank of Socks that Rocks in some green colorway which is lovely.  A paw shaped needle gauge and a beautiful single dog themed stitch marker.  This yarn might make it to the top of the sock pile - although maybe not - I'm quite behind on my brown bag club socks.

Winner!

Long, long ago - my friend Nichole who blogs as Lapdog Creations had a contest.  See she stopped by Tiger World on a vacation last year and fell head over heels in love.  Honestly.

So - when one of the babies got sick and died, followed quickly by another - she decided to put her blog to good use.  I have nothing but admiration for people who put their money where there heart is in terms of supporting causes.  There are so many that it's easy to get carried away.

Anyway - I donated to help Tiger World, it wasn't much, but hopefully it will help.

In exchange - I got these two lovely sewing books in the mail.  Tea Towels and Pretty Little Pillows.  Both are lovely and I have enjoyed having them beside the bed to look through and be inspired.  Soon, they will be moving to the Studio and hopefully getting used even!

Thank you LapDog Momma - I love the books.  But the real prize was helping out.

Think Pink!

Since I have no new photos of my dogs and no sewing to speak of
we're going to skip DoT and send you directly to a contest.
Photo from Pampered Chef
You - yes you! - could win these lovely plates.
Anyone who knows me - know I love a pretty plate.
JB has threatened to start giving mine away if I buy anymore.
So - I managed to work out a trade - one of my new sock dumplin bags in exchange for the plates.
However - to win them - go to Knit Tea and tell her what your favorite PC item is.
You can also link to a product who's proceeds benefit Breast Cancer.
Good Luck!
