The glands in his throat were the size of softballs and he didn't want to do anything.
He wouldn't even eat his all time favorite treats.
and he missed dinner.
First thing Friday morning we were at our vet.
Where she listened to him and said that his lungs where no affected by the cancer.
He ate a can of stinky wet TD and enjoyed every bite.
We agreed with the vet that it was the right thing to do for him.
He was no longer having fun. He wasn't being a dog.
He was miserable.
So, we said goodby and helped him over the Rainbow Bridge.
I miss you buddy! You were the best first dog ever.
He was a great guy, and words can't express how sad I am.
ReplyDeleteHi G,
ReplyDeleteSeveral people left comments for you on my blog yesterday. You might want to read thru them.
How are you doing?
My heart goes out to you - it is still recovering from the pain of putting down our dear Java in March.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Lynn

ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry Gaylen. It's so hard to let go of our babies. I wish they could live as long as we do.
ReplyDeleteYou have my deepest sympathy. I think letting go the is hardest, but most loving, thing we ever do for our dear, sweet pups. He will be missed by all that knew him.

ReplyDeleteSending care and love to you and all at your home. You've all given Dudley such a special life, and so much incredibly special care over the past few weeks,
Wishing I could pass my ownw and Zebbycat's loving huggles and affectionate, concerned caresses onto Dudley's beloved Humans and Hounds,

ReplyDeleteHi Gaylen,
ReplyDeleteI apologize for the lateness of this comment. I haven't been online much as I am in KY, taking care of my mom who has had surgery.
I was very sad to read the post of Dudley's passing. And even though I know you were preparing yourself for this, I know you and your family are saddened by his passing. Sending {{hugs}} to you and slobber kisses from Dew and Sampson too.
Tina.
I'm terribly sorry to "meet" you at such an unhappy time.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your loss but it was the right thing. It took us 18 months after our Boston died to open our hearts to a new dog.
ReplyDeleteLeslie
I teared up reading this and please know that I am so, so, so sorry about Dudley! I know you know you did the right thing, but darn it it sure isn't easy to do is it?
