Incredible

No, not my pictures - never that.
I have stuff to blog - we were on a vacation.
But somehow watching the news and seeing tornados, flooding, etc.
Makes my vacation seem so very, very trivial right now.
The flip side is - I'm sure we're all looking for a distraction.

So - how about I share some unedited photos
because honestly I'm too lazy to figure out photoshop and layers
I'd rather knit, or sew, or cook.

I'd like to introduce Mona.  Yes, she is a camel.
She lives in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island.
JB had just called her across the field and given her an apple.
Mona was very gentle and wanted her head scratched.

  1. I know Gaylen...we complain about the rain here, but truly we are blessed when you consider what Mother Nature is dishing out to our friends in the Midwest!

  2. Don't be so hard on your photos!!

I'm not complaining about the heat and humidity because we are safe and dry - for now.

  3. Hope you had a wonderful time! I love your tree.

Truth be told, the only editing I do is to resize or crop pictures. I feel like anything else is cheating.

  4. Mona looks very sweet. : )

These tornadoes have been horrible. This has been the worst spring I've seen in a while.

  5. Love your tree pic! And...thanks for the distraction. I'm weary from worrying about my family and friends (and all the others) back in the Midwest.

  6. awwww, Mona is so sweet! Was she with the alpacas? Remember U Picka Alpaca? When JB asked me what i was going to call my Alpaca farm, that was the first thing that popped into my head. Now i think it everytime i pass an Alpaca farm.
The storms are unbelievable, and incredibly sad. The national news had me in tears last night, those poor people.

  7. This conversation has played out here, too - we've got lots of rain but the news every night brings it all into perspective. So much damage, so many people affected.

But on a lighter note, have you changed your mind about the twirly skirt in the last post ? I was sure I commented but I guess not - not keeping up very well lately. I did think it really is a fun summer skirt - you can't beat a good twirl :-)
