A Little Bit

My friend Miss D is on a fairly tight budget. As, frankly, are most of use these days. Consequently, she is one of the few people I know who truly doesn't have a stash! She might have the yarn for 2 sweaters lined up, and maybe 5 hanks of sock yarn - but that's it! Shocking I know. Back in February Miss D and I (along with another friend) headed out to Madrona Fiber Arts Festival. Miss D bought two beautiful hanks of Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock. This first little beauty is Carbon Dating which is no longer on their website. She also purchased Korppi which is a beautiful yarn with shades of black. But you might ask why do I have them? Well Miss D doesn't have a swift or ball winder and I do. I also have a handy dandy food scale which weighs in grams. This is important for splitting hanks so you can knit 2 socks at the same time.

  1. Wow! I really love that Korppi!

I knit all winter long, but all I actually make are "scarves".

I use quotes because when people ask me what I'm knitting, that's what I tell them, but in actuality, I'm just knitting for the sake of keeping my hands warm and busy, so nine times out of ten, whatever I knit ends up unpicked and rewound.

  2. Pretty yarns. Actually, I'm considering STR for my Chevron scarf... but I have this stash...

  3. Pretty colors. They would make a really pretty Cheveron scarf.

No stash hu? Remind her sock yarns don't count. ;)
