I'm Busy Getting Ready
Tonight at 11 pm we board a plane to New York City (does anyone else hear the voice from the old Pace Salsa voice over when they hear "New York City?").
Since I made a commitment not to blog without pictures this year - because that's boring, and because I finally got the pictures I requested from JD2 of the Christmas gift I made for him - I'll share that before leaving.
The pattern started out as dashing from knitty.com. The first pair I made were for another attorney I worked with. I loved those mitts, but because of yarn substitution and not having the right gauge - they were long. Almost like evening gloves - only without fingers. I so wish I had taken a picture before they got remade.
After the first too long pair, which I knew no guy would wear. I made this pair for JD2. The yarn is Otto Cashmerino Shadow in a medium grey. I love it. It was heavenly to work with and they are so soft. I took just under 1 ball per glove. I also changed the cable up.

Nice! Have a great, safe trip. Can't wait to hear all about it!
ReplyDeleteSo, lil' missy... having fun in the big apple? Purl Patchwork and Purl SoHo. I. Am. So. Jealous. I'm going to go drown my sorrows in the new issues of Quiltmania and Down Under Quilts, with maybe a little Bailey's in the decaf. Have super-big loads of obnoxious happy-fun on your trip, and give The Soldier a squeeze.
