Having A Hard Time
doing nothing. However, the way I've felt these last few days aren't encouraging a great deal of activity. Thank you all for your well wishes and support. It really means a lot to me.
So, I'm doing a fair bit of reading, lots of blog surfing, a good bit of internet shopping (for myself and holiday gifting), tons of knitting, and a little bit of sleeping.
Yesterday, Beau decided he needed to check on me and make sure I was okay - but putting his big foot right on my abdomen. I yelped, JB jumped up, started to yell at the dog, but I stopped him, Beau didn't mean to hurt me. For the rest of the evening, every time I even breathed heavy Beau would get up to check on me and make sure I was okay.
Today, JB went back to work. He carried the laundry basket downstairs for me - just so I didn't get the bright idea to bring it down myself. I am going to do my best to just leave it there in front of the washing machine. He's getting a little desperate for jeans, but heavy jeans might be a little too much.
Holiday knitting is coming along and I just keep adding to the list - since I seem to be doing nothing but sitting and knitting. Here's what the list looks like:
*Red Debbie Bliss cabled scarf & fingerless mitts {scarf half done}
*KPPPM Feather & Fan Scarf {1/4 done}
*JB's Holiday Sweater {body done to start of sleeves}
*The Princess Gift - done!
*Purple socks for a friend - done!
*Scarf for The Musical One {needs to be blocked}
*Socks for The Musical One - done!
I have a couple of sewing gifts that need to be completed, but they will have to wait until I can bend in half.
Enough whining. Again, thank you all for your well wishes, you have no idea how it has brightened my days :)

Oh, this is a bad time of year to have to recuperate from surgery! (Like there's any such thing as a *good* time to recuperate from surgery...). But be sure and take it easy...the more rest you give yourself now, the shorter the whole recovery process will be. Don't worry about what's not getting done; just think of how good you'll feel once the recovery (and I'm told that it can take a year to get all the way back; be patient!) is over.
ReplyDeleteAnd you're not exactly doing nothing...there are some folks who are going to get some beautiful hand knitted Christmas gifts; that certainly counts for something!
Gosh, if that's your idea of whining, you are a SAINT! LOL. I bet it is hard to just sit and relax for someone who is used to getting so much done in a day. How cute about Beau!
ReplyDeleteYou are making good knitting progress! Try to enjoy it (without going crazy from sitting so long.)
poor beau....he was just worried about his mama....tho i can imagine how not good that felt. eek. good job on resting. that's exactly what you need to do. sitting around knitting and reading sounds like fun until you *have* to do it for several days. i know it is hard to ignore the laundry basket, but your dh can throw stuff in the washer when he gets home.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know that you are feeling well enough to get some things done. And I am delighted about your full-time caretaker (Beau). But I urge you to be careful and get plenty of rest.
ReplyDeleteIt is always hard to sit and do "noting" when you are so used t getting up and doing the things throughout the day. Hope your recovery is quick and you get all your holiday things done.
ReplyDeleteLookie there at all those holiday knitting projects... I JUST started mine, though my excuse was knitting for the open house before... lol
ReplyDeletePoor doggies probably are just very concerned about Mom... mine do that too, not realizing their hurting you with their over concerned behavior. lol
love love love love.....hugs hugs hugs hugs hugs......cheek kisses cheek kisses cheek kisses...
ReplyDeleteHere are some of all of the things that I wish I could give you in person but since i can't, I will post them through your blog! Just know that it is all there for ya.....and the love is always there even from across the country! (At least its not all the way from England!)
Love love love you!--k
Sending warm thoughts from across the ocean. Take care. x
