The local food bank is at an all-time low because they are being used much more frequently now..the dog shelter is in dire need, too.

Hard times for a lot of us right now, so it is DEFINITELY the time to GIVE!! I've heard many a sigh when stressed, abandoned dogs lay down on a soft bed. The extra comfort helps them de-stress a bit and present themselves more successfully to potential adopters. Plus, they look more "homey" to the adopters and have a better shot at a new home.

Even a bag o'treats helps! Do I hear chew toys for the anxious?

D.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21513612.post-41470481858757231492008-11-20T15:14:00.000-05:002008-11-20T15:14:00.000-05:00Thanks Sue! You know my heart is with the voiceless and powerless. I've made many dog sweaters over the years. This, in addition to a full-time job, single parenting and volunteering between 40 and 50 hours per month for the last five years at the local shelter. Heck, if I can do it, anyone can!

You know I've resisted blogging, even though you've often told me about the power and compassion of your blogger-friends. I might have to change my mind if your group can make a difference like this!

Anonymous D.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21513612.post-80081564887723708002008-11-20T14:06:00.000-05:002008-11-20T14:06:00.000-05:00Great post Gaylen!!Great post Gaylen!!dogquilterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17583401335056895525noreply@blogger.com
