I Might Have A Problem

Saturday - after tooling around the Edmonds Markets and ordering a new "vintage" necklace, JB and I slowly wound our way home.  JB was in the mood to putter when he saw a sign for an estate sale, he just started following it.

Well, no estate sale, apparently it was on Friday only.  But the neighbor across the house was having a yard sale.  It as a very sweet older couple who had been married 50 years and were starting to clear out their home in preparation of moving into senior housing.

They were selling their china!  It isn't a complete set with serving pieces, but it is a service for 12 with dinner, salad and bread plates as well as cups and saucers.  There is a silver rim and beautiful gold, silver and bronze leaves on the plates.  I love it.  JB asked if I wanted it without me even saying anything - so now I have 10 different sets of dishes - time to stop?

  1. You know my sewing machines multiplied like bunnies this summer, so 'people in glass houses' applies here. But, um, .... 10 ? LOL Enjoy them :-)

  2. When I saw the pictures I knew you bought it! :) If you have storage space and they make you happy, and you didn't spend this month's mortgage payment on it...then no you do not have a problem!

  3. How pretty! I have a thing for china too, so I'm the wrong person to ask, but... How many different sets of dishes will you need in your next life? Bunches and bunches, right?!

  4. Wow, it took us 14 years to agree on a china pattern.

  5. They look lovely! Not a china/dishes person myself, but if you keep collecting you could use a different set every day of the month. :)

  6. You can never have too many sets of dishes. What if your daughters need one? What if you want to serve a "mix and match" dinner? What if you want variety in your dining? And at the price you paid, why on earth would you NOT buy them?

Yes, I know; it's me, your friend, the enabler.

  10. I have one china teacup. Always admired it but I had boys in the house so no china came to live with me.
    This is very pretty :).
