A New Trend

I love me some lounge pants. Seriously. I do not wear them in public. I'm too old and have too much class for that tacky trend. (sorry to all of you who just spit on your monitors.) Anyway, last year when I went to visit Henry and Fred, I really wanted to make a pair of cute lounge pants for their Mom, but I ran out of time. So, later in the year, I bought a really cute flannel print and for this past Christmas I made us matching pairs of flannel lounge pants. Miss C is coming for a visit in just about 3 months. While I was shopping at Expo I saw this cute flannel covered with Ice Cream sundaes. I'm thinking if my rear is already covered in ice cream I won't have to eat it - right? Anyway - I bought a few yards. I'll still need to find a solid flannel for cuffs, but the plan is to get a couple pairs of matching flannel pants before then. Apparently the new trend in my life is that if you come to visit me or I come to see you - expect some matching lounge pants as a reminder of the visit.

  1. I'm with you on not wearing lounge pants in public. Even on my skinny, beautiful daughters (think I'm biased, maybe?), they look ludicrous. Add any weight or age, and I'm left wondering why the wearer bothered to get out of bed. Around the house? Why not be comfy? And the ice cream pattern is just too much fun to pass up!

  2. Cute, cute! I have to have sweats. Lounge pants don't cut it when I have to stand on the front porch and convince Sissy to stay in the yard.

  3. That is very cute fabric. I have some flannel that I have been thinking of making lounge pants with. What is your "go-to pattern" for them?

I wear those pants EVERY night, they are the best. I draw the line on wearing them in public though, that is my pet peeve!

  5. Flannel = pj pants, indoors only, well, maybe in the backyard to chase the dogs :-)

I love my pj's, this past Saturday I didn't put 'real' clothes on til it was time to go out ...uhm, at 5 pm

  7. way cute! But I'm pretty sure your logic about wearing your ice cream is backwards! I'm thinking it will constantly remind you of what you are missing out on, until you burst and eat some :) Good luck with that though...

  8. I have some plain gray pairs that I'll wear sometimes to drop the kids off at school, but that's only because I don't have to get out of the car. I'd be so embarrassed if I ever did, though. lol

    Are they easy to make?
